Leadership Skills for Women

In this course, participants will focus on exploring leadership in a dynamic work environment, developing their range of leadership styles, learning win-win negotiation techniques, building personal agency, growing professional networks and driving organizational effectiveness.

This course is offered in both an online class and event classroom format. Both formats are held over 3 days for a total of 22.5 course hours. Online courses have the flexibility of being held on non-consecutive days and spread out in half day or two hour segments if desired. The course can accommodate 6 to 24 participants.

Basic Principles of Leadership

This course helps participants to identify Goleman’s six types of leadership, learn when best to utilize each type, and build the four underlying abilities to foster each type of leadership. Participants will participate in small group activities in order to develop each ability and apply each type of leadership to scenarios. Participants will also analyze George’s Authentic Leadership model and apply it to their leadership practices. They will leave with a better understanding of their leadership abilities and a plan to foster their own leadership growth.

This course is offered in both an online class and event classroom format. Both formats are held over 2 days for a total of 15 course hours. Online courses have the flexibility of being held on non-consecutive days and spread out in half day or two hour segments if desired. The course can accommodate 6 to 24 participants. 

Emotionally Intelligent Leadership

Emotionally intelligent workplaces lead to more personal and organizational effectiveness. This course introduces participants to the four components of emotional intelligence: self- awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. They will explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and four key dimensions of leadership: authenticity, coaching, insight, and innovation. Participants will learn the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace, explore their own emotional intelligence quotient (using the EQ-i 2.0), explore methods to enhance their own emotional intelligence, and learn ways to foster emotional intelligence growth in those they supervise.

Coaching Skills

Participants in this course will learn to coach employees to design their future by creating visions and goals for their career development. Participants will develop the ability to help employees discover, align, and clarify their goals for achievement; to encourage self-discovery; to elicit employee-developed solutions and strategies; and to hold employees responsible and accountable for their own growth. Small group activities and scenario-based practice will allow supervisors experiential learning opportunities. 

This course is offered in both an online class and event classroom format. Both formats are held over 2 days for a total of 15 course hours. Developing Your Strategic Plan

In this course, participants are given a roadmap to developing a strategic plan for their organization, department, or team. Participants will learn to write vision and mission statements, identify and define core values, perform SWOT analyses, recognize underlying assumptions, and formulate clear goals, SMART objectives, and strategies for success. A focus will be placed on identifying metrics that demonstrate progress and accomplishment. Small group activities will give participants opportunities to practice these skills. 

This course is offered in both an online class and event classroom format. Both formats are held over 3 days for a total of 22.5 course hours. Online courses have the flexibility of being held on non-consecutive days and spread out in half day or two hour segments if desired. The course can accommodate 6 to 24 participants.

Implementing Your Strategic Plan

In this course, participants are given a roadmap to implementing a strategic plan within their organization, department, or team. Participants will learn to facilitate workgroups, develop workgroup charters, set group agreements, analyze current situations, write action plans, solve problems, and celebrate successes. Small group activities will give participants opportunities to practice these skills. 

This course is offered in both an online class and event classroom format. Both formats are held over 3 days for a total of 22.5 course hours. Managing Change

Participants in this course are introduced to William Bridges’ Transition Model which focuses on the idea of bringing people through the stages of transition when a change occurs. Tools specific to each transition stage will be provided to give change agents the ability to help their employees successfully navigate through the changes that inevitably occur in any workplace.

Career Development with the MBTI

Participants in this course will have the opportunity to explore their Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) results; identify their Type’s contributions to the organization, leadership style, preferred learning style, problem-solving approach, and preferred work environments. The participants will explore potential pitfalls and suggestions for development for each Type. They will then formulate a plan for themselves based on course content to focus on their career development within the organization.

Online courses have the flexibility of being held on non-consecutive days and spread out in half day or two hour segments if desired. The course can accommodate 6 to 24 participants.

Basic Motivational Interviewing

This course introduces participants to the concept of motivational interviewing, teaches them to build the relational foundation of the change discussion, and prepares them to focus the discussion on the particular change behavior. This training engages participants through presentation of information and direct practice with each other and case studies. Participants will leave the course with an assignment to practice the skills in their daily interactions, to reflect upon those experiences, and to return to the next training component (Advanced Motivational Interviewing) prepared to discuss those experiences. 

This course is offered in an event classroom format and is held over 2 days for a total of 15 course hours. The course can accommodate 6 to 24 participants.

Advanced Motivational Interviewing

This course builds upon the introductory course (Basic Motivational Interviewing) by exploring participant experiences practicing the basic skills and teaching participants to prepare the individual to change their behavior, develop change plans, and support the change process. This training engages staff through presentation of information and direct practice with other staff and case studies.

 This course is offered in an event classroom format and is held over 2 days for a total of 15 course hours. The course can accommodate 6 to 24 participants. Participants must have completed the Basic Motivational Interviewing course.
